TRACK2

An easier way to test payment applications

What does it do?

TRACK2 is an innovative financial switch emulator (simulator) and message analyser. It is designed to make testing payment applications much easier.  It has a number of features that will reduce the amount of time that developers and test analysts spend during development.

The Business Case

Payment application development and testing is usually a very expensive process. Even after lengthy testing, certification failures can cost many thousands of dollars and lengthen the time to market for new products and features.

TRACK2 reduces development and certification costs in several ways:

  1. Developers can use TRACK2 switch emulation during development. It is 100% reliable and developers will not lose time waiting for test hosts to come online or to be configured for various tests.
  2. Test Analysts can use TRACK2 to test payment applications. The configuration features of TRACK2 allow almost all functionality to be tested quickly. Message traces with annotations can be exported and sent to developers if required.
  3. The analysis features of TRACK2 will ensure message defects are picked up before certification, reducing the likelihood of a certification failure.

Terminal vendors will sometimes build and operate their own host emulators but this may not be the best use of resources. Switch specifications are changing rapidly in the face of new technologies and there is considerable cost for vendors in building an emulator and keeping it up-to-date over several years. The costs of development and maintenance will be higher than the cost of a TRACK2 subscription.

With a TRACK2 subscription, vendors can use the very best terminal testing tool for less than the cost of building and maintaining their own. Vendors who don’t have any type of emulator will realise significant productivity gains if they use TRACK2 for development and testing.

Pricing and Support

TRACK2 is sold as a yearly or quarterly subscription. The subscription price will depend on the switch being supported, the number of licenses (or seats) required, and the term of the subscription.

While the subscription is valid subscribers will always have the most up-to-date version of TRACK2. Any reported issues that affect correctness or the ability to test will be resolved by a minor update within 10 working days. All other issues will be addressed during regular six-monthly releases.
